The Lisbon System for the International Registration of Geographical Indications offers a means of obtaining protection for a geographical indication in the 30 contracting parties to the Lisbon Agreement through a single registration and one set of fees.
Budapest – The International Microorganism Deposit System
The Budapest System provides a practical business solution when pursuing patents involving biological material in some 80 countries through the recognition of one international recognized deposit with an international depositary authority (IDA).

International Databases

PATENTSCOPE
The PATENTSCOPE database provides access to international Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) applications in full text format on the day of publication, as well as to patent documents of participating national and regional patent offices.
Global Brand Database
The Global Brand Database is your gateway to more than 40,980,000 records from some 55 national and international collections, and the first step in researching whether a mark similar or identical to yours already exists. Search the Global Brand Database before filing a trademark application, or to simply browse marks in markets that interest you.
Global Design Database
Via a single, intuitive interface, the Global Design Database enables free, simultaneous searches of more than 11,350,000 industrial designs registered under the WIPO-administered Hague System and/or in participating national collections.
Hague Express Database
The weekly updated Hague Express Database includes bibliographical data and – as far as international registrations governed exclusively or partly by the 1999 and/or by the 1960 Act(s) of the Hague Agreement are concerned – reproductions of industrial designs relating to published international registrations bearing a registration date as from January 3, 1985. International registrations that have lapsed are not removed from the Database.
WIPO Lex
WIPO Lex is a global database that provides free of charge access to legal information on intellectual property (IP) such as treaties administered by WIPO, other IP-related treaties, and laws and regulations of the Member States of WIPO, the United Nations and the World Trade Organization.
WIPO-Administered Treaties
WIPO administers 26 treaties including the WIPO Convention.

Applicants for national or international IP protection are required to determine whether their creation is new or owned/claimed by someone else.
